The technology experts are working together as part of a competence center funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics. The initiative drives research and implementation projects for the digitalization of smart logistics and the value network for medium-sized companies.

Project content is the consolidation of customer requirements (delivery call-offs), warehouse stocks, production capacities and disposition figures. In terms of Big Data Analytics, a transparent forecast model is to be created from the complex data structure.

The aim of the project, which is scheduled to run until mid-2017, is to smooth production and logistics processes and reduce inventories.
